THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO
Fly Girl was taken at midday at a sports complex in Playa del Carmen, at a time when the place was completely empty. The heat and strong sunlight made it less than ideal for exercise, but perfect for working with shadows.
We wanted to create images that felt playful and artistic, balancing a sporty attitude with a fashion sensibility. From above, the shadows appeared bold and graphic on the court. Instead of a basketball, Moni jumps while lifting her hat, creating an unexpected contrast between athletic movement and a freer, more expressive gesture.
For me, this image represents the moment where beauty and sport coexist. Today, it brings me happiness and a sense of pride in the shared creativity and in turning an everyday space into something inspiring.
